Inhibiting effect of a composite formulation of kinetic and thermodynamic inhibitors for gas hydrate formation in high water cut oil–water emulsion

In oil and gas exploitation transportation, it is essential to avoid hydrate blockage in the wellbores pipelines. Using kinetic inhibitors composite with thermodynamic can reduce operational expenditure for pipelines under high water content conditions. The phase equilibria of pure natural system, oil-water MEG system were firstly investigated by experiments combined software predictions this study. results showed that both mineral shifted equilibrium high-pressure low-temperature directions. increased effective temperature range compounding inhibitor. Then inhibition performance generation characteristics formulation Luvicap® 55w emulsions mixtures investigated. With subcooling, induction time decreased sharply, consumption increased. increasing concentration, which verified synergistic effect emulsion Luvicap 55w. did not change much concentration at same temperature. contrast, rose from 142.8 min >3500 as 10wt% 20wt%.This article protected copyright.
